Stroud's Canary - Prints

from 10.00

Have you read the story of the Birdman of Alcatraz? Robert Stroud was a violent man who spent 54 years of his life in prison. 42 of those were spent in complete isolation. Despite his temperament, he was incredibly smart and devoted much of his time to studying canaries. He raised at least 300 birds in his prison cell. Stroud would go on to author a book about canaries and their diseases and made great contributions to the field of ornithology. You can read his full story HERE. It’s an interesting read and not too long if you have a few minutes to spare.
